Caldwell Historic Preservation Plan Virtual Open House

Open House Public Input

During the Historic Preservation Plan Virtual Open House, community members are invited to provide feedback about what aspects of Caldwell's heritage are important to them and about the current status of the City's historic preservation program.

To participate, navigate through each of the boards using the on-screen tools and click on the specific locations where you would like to leave a comment, so your input is tied to a particular policy, map, or section. Share your feedback or questions in the comment box, keeping remarks focused, respectful, and related to the content on the board so that City staff, the Historic Preservation Commission, and the City Council can clearly understand and consider the feedback.

Businesses who Started Caldwell. 1950’s-1990’s. Farms, Ranches. Caldwell Memorial Hospital, Talbot Lanes, Caldwell Bowl, Summers Stationary, Georges, Pollards, All Who Helped Caldwell Grow. Pictures, Memories, Historical Society Worthy Buildings and Homes Need to be Preserved. This is History. Caldwell History. I am 4th Generation Grew Up a Caldwell Resident. My Family Were Farmers, Electricians, Nurses, and Auto mechanics, and Trade. Our Family Takes Pride in What We Have Done Thru Generations . It Needs to be Preserved not Only for My Families Sake but so More Generations Like Mine Can See All They Have Missed in Past Years and How We Have Grown , Changed. What Amazing History Caldwell Has. . Before the Overchange. Before the Upheaval. Pictures, Memories, Historical Society Worthy Buildings and Homes Need to all be Preserved. This is History. Caldwell History.

I am so Excited to See What in the Time Capsule in the Park We Put There When I was in Grade School!!! Not Everyone Can Say They Have Done That!!

I Think All of the Old Kept Up Homes,Farms, and Businesses. Should be Preserved. Along with Any Historic Buildings or Sites in Caldwell.

Caldwell is fortunate to have a small museum across from the public pool, however these artefacts are inaccessible to the public and fall to disrepair.

It is unfortunate that taxpayers continue to maintain the train station without having access to a passenger train - the City should be working to bring passenger service back; the best way to preserve historic structures is to use them.

These programs appear to promote business owner's involvement and try to limit the burden of owning a historic building through education and grant opportunities.

Caldwell has a rich history that most citizens are not aware of. Bringing historic preservation into the conversation gives people awareness and allows for the discussion of preservation to happen.
