Chandler General Plan Update 2026

The City of Chandler is updating its General Plan, a long-term guide for growth, development, and quality of life. The Chandler General Plan 2026 update is a community-driven process to refresh the city’s long-term vision for growth, development, and quality of life. Required by Arizona law every 10 years, the update will incorporate public input through meetings, surveys, and workshops, and will guide decisions on land use, housing, transportation, and more. While it won’t change zoning or taxes, it will include goals, policies, and maps to shape Chandler’s future. The process runs through early 2026, with voter ratification expected in August.

Is this the correct use of "constellation"? Maybe acting "as an extension of"?

Is, "as-needed" different than "being reactive"? Consider revising the sentence to say, "Strategic planning has positioned the city effectively to construct infrastructure proactively rather than being reactive."
Question
August 2025?
Suggested Revision
Since you use du as an acronym on the next page for dwelling units, call that out here.
Suggested Revision
To be consistent, either add major employers in the other growth areas or don't list them here. You risk alienating other major employers such as Intel, Wells Fargo, Northrop Grumman, NXP, Bashas, etc. by not calling them out. Perhaps a table could be included the growth area section or as an appendix, that lists the Top 20 private employers in the city, number of employees, and which growth area they are in.
Question
With the growth of Electric vehicles, should consideration of charging stations be considered as well?
Suggested Revision
Inconsistent use of dashes in the table. If dashes are going to be used to indicate each element, then Land Use, Circulation and Open Space need dashes in front of them.
Suggested Revision
What does the U stand for in GPU? The U should be stated before introducing the acronym.
Question
This plan really focuses on the business aspect, but there are restaurants, shops, and hotels in this corridor. Should there be some language highlighting these uses?
Comment
I like the idea of mixed-use developments. When it was mentioned above that the focus is more employment and not retail, I still like the retail aspect, but more of the mixed-use developments you mention here.
Comment
Want to see some modernization here as well - as in a "facelift" for areas in this corridor.
Comment
In order to continue the growth in Chandler, it is necessary to build vertical.
Comment
Residential with integrated uses is a forward thinking and progressive approach to developing these areas.
Comment
I feel the team executed this mission very well.
