Instead of specifying minimum lot size, consider a density per 40 acres or 160 acres. If a farm house was subdivided off of a farm circle, this might only be able to be 5 acres without including some of the farm ground. That would be a reasonable subdivision but wouldn't make the acreage requirement. The Agriculture and Rural Preservation and Prime Agriculture areas take up a lot of areas of the County. I don't think it is wise for the County to restrict minor subdivisions in these areas. There is a lot of land that is non-farm ground sitting next to productive farm ground that makes sense to subdivide. Restricting subdivisions on this land takes away personal property rights and could be the best use of the property. If these map categories become official, there will be very limited subdivision of land and that does nothing to help with our housing shortage. I also think that the lot densities should be looked at based on the power and water overlays. Places that can provide both of these criteria should be considered for a higher density.
Suggested Revision
This zoning needs to be revised. This shows the prime farming area and it is really a small lot residential area. The future use of this area should remain suburban rural density that allows for lots in the 2-3 acre range.

These sections should have an introduction to help caveat the intent of the Focus Areas. This is especially important to help understanding/visualization of the buildout graphics. Note that these are diagrammatic/conceptual only.
I think the Farm Park is in East Alamosa? It might be listed here as a partner?
Solar and other large renewable or tourist (RV) additions are wonderful, but we need to be sure the county is looking at sustainability and mitigation responsibilities. If any of these need to be decommissioned for any reason, does the county have the ability to hold the original permit owners responsible?
The plan looks great, very comprehensive
