Language is from Comp Plan, not LS.
in reply to Joe Huot's comment
Sounds concerning?
in reply to Becca's comment
Bringing more areas within County into detailed zoning would help address this issue.
in reply to Linda Buchanan's comment
This can make sense where intent is to establish or replace drought-tolerant materials, usually within three years.
in reply to D. Cherry's comment
Good point. All the more reason to utilize more durable native plant materials and limit disturbance/clearing to retain natural vegetation.
in reply to Phil Bourdon's comment
5 ft. setbacks are political non-starter for most scenarios.
in reply to Linda Buchanan's comment
Comment
Might be prudent to include limits on size as we currently have one property owner building an amusement park-size wave pool in RC-2 Zone next to other residences.
Question
How do Home Occupations and Live/Work differ?
Suggested Revision
Kennel, "Domestic" Animal Boarding
Comment
As stated earlier, "day care" may cover children, adults, special needs populations.
Question
"protected"?
Question
How is the parking requirement (space) tied to fossil fuel vs electric?
Question
Has public engagement driven this suggestion?
Technical Edit
Consider "removing obsolete fences" (instead of fences that serve no purpose.
Technical Edit
Strike "ahead of time."
Technical Edit
stakeholders (one word)
Technical Edit
See 3f... same/different?
Comment
Give preference?
Suggested Revision
Naturally "vegetated" state?
Question
"More" than what? Quantify or qualify?
Technical Edit
5a Misnumbered or misplaced under Goal 4?
Comment
This is counterintuitive. Traffic is required to yield to school bus loading and unloading.
Comment
While recognizing the safety, health, and recreational value of Policy 2e, it seems the likelihood of any impact on traffic congestion falls somewhere between negligible and indiscernible for the foreseeable future.
Question
Policymakers instead of decision makers?
Comment
Not sure that ag/ranch operational practices should fall under any sort of County code.
Question
Perhaps an example of a "necessary" land use?
Comment
"Noxious and nuisance" must be well-defined, measurable, and fairly applied.
Question
Do we have a solid definition of "community core areas"? The term is prevalent in subsequent sections of this table.
Comment
"compatible" needs to not mean "same as"
Comment
6d,e,f require a delicate balance, as community 'vision' statements from unincorporated areas may be weighted in deference to self-appointed (not elected) representatives or organizations that are not egalitarian or perceived to be fair and representative of the greater community.
Technical Edit
strike "their"
Question
Why only seek input on potentially adverse impacts? Our vision should equally seek input on potentially positive impacts.
Question
Was input directly sought from sovereign nations, including Yavapai Prescott Indian Tribe and Yavapai-Apache Nation, which also have significant interface with County governance?
Technical Edit
"possibly"
in reply to Matthew's comment
Question
Matt, "yes" to which? PADs only or all development?
Technical Edit
strike "the"
Comment
Young families are equally or potentially at greater risk from housing affordability issues.
Comment
I don't understand the context of "curbing informal housing clusters."
Question
Does the County have any domain over water supply outside AMAs?
Suggested Revision
Strike "by the respondent"?
Comment
I strongly agree with this point.
Comment
Agreed. Yavapai County has a large amount of archeological sites as well as unique ecosystems and wildlife that should be adequately protected.
Board of Supervisors Hearing
Agreed
Comment
People in our county routinely seek to utilize things like conex boxes, manufactured homes, tiny homes etc because of cost limitations. There is a strong need for increased building affordability in our area.
in reply to Linda Buchanan's comment
Would this offer a solution for the many non-conforming lots that were created over the years as the county rezoned certain areas? Presently our answer is that we cannot allow these vacant lots to be developed because they no longer meet the minimum size requirements, even though it is a roadblock that the county helped create.
in reply to Linda Buchanan's comment
Comment
Square footage refers to the area of the parcel. This figure is calculated by multiplying the number of acres by 43,560, which is the number of square feet contained in one acre.
Suggested Revision
Replace "a lot of" with "enough"
Technical Edit
Replace "a lot of" with "significant."
Suggested Revision
Use "implemented" (or utilized) instead of "employed in practice."
